Managing your organization settings

Ensure your organization's settings are reviewed and updated for a smooth launch.

You’ll need to complete a few essential settings for your organization before launching your volunteer hub and posting opportunities.

Upload your logo.

If your organization has a logo, go to Settings> Organization Info and upload an image to represent your work. The logo must be square and in a standard image format, such as JPG, TIF, or PNG.

Tips for logo upload:

  • Check social media accounts: Facebook and other platforms often require square logos, which may be available for download.

  • Create a square version: Place your logo on a background, then take a square screenshot.

Add a mission statement.

A brief mission statement helps volunteers understand your organization’s purpose and know they're in the right place. This statement will appear on your hub's opportunities pages.

Tips for writing a mission statement:

  • Keep it to one or two sentences.

  • Focus on what your organization does and why it matters.

  • Use clear, inspiring language to engage potential volunteers.



Update contact details.

To send emails on behalf of your organization, it's mandatory to provide your address, phone number, and email. This requirement helps ensure compliance with international anti-spam laws, like the CAN-SPAM Act (U.S.), GDPR (EU), and CASL (Canada), which are designed to protect recipients from unwanted or fraudulent communications. Including your organization’s contact information:

  • Allows recipients to identify and trust the sender.

  • Provides a direct way for recipients to contact you if they have questions.

  • It helps ensure your emails reach recipients legally and with transparency.

By meeting these legal requirements, you’re helping build trust and improve your email deliverability.

You can also add your website and social media links, which will appear in the footer of your volunteer hub.


Review your organization's preferences.

To ensure everything is set up just right for your organization, review the following settings in the Settings > Preferences tab:

  • Date and Time Format: Adjust to match your local preferences.

  • Timezone: Confirm that your correct timezone is selected.

  • Hour Format: Set your preferred 12- or 24-hour display.

  • Calendar Start Day: Choose Monday or Sunday as the first day of the week.

If you make any changes, remember to press Save for them to take effect.
