Add a Volunteer to the Directory without an Email

Learn how to add a volunteer into Timecounts if they do not have an email address.

Why add a volunteer to Timecounts if they don't have an email?

No matter how easy it is, not everyone has an email address or feels comfortable using online technology. With Timecounts, as long as someone is listed in the Directory, organizers can manually update their information and assign them to events and shifts. Or perhaps you want to log them into the system and update their email address later so they can receive emails.

Note: Manually adding a volunteer to the Directory does not create a login for this person. They will still need to verify their account, which requires a real email.

How to Add a Volunteer without an Email to the Directory

Go to the Directory view and top right corner click 'Add Volunteer'.

This will display a popup to add one person. Switch at the top to import a list of volunteers, and remember to follow the correct format.

Enter the person's first and last name. In the email field, you will be required to use an email, so please use the format [email protected]. It must be unique, so enter anything before @noemail.com, and we will recognize this as a placeholder email in the system.

Once you add the Volunteers, there is one more step to add them to the Directory. Go to the Onboarding / Imported tab and click 'Add to Directory.'

Now that the volunteer is in the Directory, you can qualify them for Applications, assign them to shifts and events, and even edit their profile card information. The only thing you can't do is email them or let them use this email to log in. The email does not exist—it is simply a way to create a profile in Timecounts. If they decide to make a login or you wish to add an email, just open their profile card and edit the email there. That will link them to the new user account they created with Timecounts.
