What are shift blocks?
Shift Blocks are an extra feature designed to streamline your scheduling. They are essentially a shift template that includes a start and end time, number of spots, and waitlist preference. These blocks are flexible because they aren’t tied to specific positions, making it easy to adapt them as needed.
Creating shift blocks.
To start, open a schedule and click the Shift Blocks icon. A card will appear on the right side of the schedule where you can add or manage your shift blocks.
Simply click Add Block to create a new shift block, and a popup will appear.
Enter the start and end time, number of spots, and whether you wish for these shifts to have a waitlist. Press the Add Shift Block button, and the block will appear in the list. The list is organized from earliest to latest, so it's easy to find what you need.
Creating shifts with shift blocks.
When you're ready to use your Shift Blocks, click on the Shift Blocks icon in the Shifts view of the schedule. Grab the block you wish to use from the list by clicking the drag icon and moving it onto the schedule. Drag it to your desired position and day. The card will close, allowing you to navigate up and down the schedule. You’ll see a dotted outline indicating where to drop the shift block.
The shift may take a moment to appear, but once added, it will be displayed in the schedule. You can continue dragging Shift Blocks onto the schedule to build out your week.
Editing or deleting a shift block.
To change or delete a shift block, hover over it in the list view, and it will reveal an edit pencil and trash icon.
