What are shift requests?
When volunteers sign up for a shift, their status will show as Requested, which means you must review and approve them before it's confirmed. If you've set your schedule to auto-accept, they'll be confirmed immediately; otherwise, you'll need to give final approval.
Switching your schedule from review to auto-accept.
Your schedule is set to review all incoming shift signups by default. If you'd like to change this to auto-accept new signups, open your schedule and go to the Details page. In the Shift Confirmations section, select Confirm Shifts automatically, and then click Save at the bottom of the page.
Checking for shift requests.
When a volunteer signs up, a task for approving shift requests will appear on your organization's dashboard. Clicking on this task will take you to the schedule list view, the quickest way to see all your published shifts on a single page.
You should also receive an admin notification for new shift requests depending on your user settings.
Responding to a shift request.
To review and approve a shift, click on the shift in the schedule to open the shift card. Then, use the dropdown next to the volunteer's name to change their status to Confirmed or select a status that fits.
Confirm: Approves the volunteer for the shift and triggers a confirmation email.
Waitlist: If you're using this feature, this moves the volunteer to a waitlist. If not set to auto-waitlist, you can manually place volunteers here and send them an email notification.
Decline: This declines the volunteer's request and prevents them from signing up for the same shift in the future.
Cancel: Changes the status of the volunteer to cancelled.
No Show: This option is used after the event has occurred. While it's typically managed from the Track tab when approving hours, you can also select it here. Choosing this status leaves a note on the volunteer's profile indicating they did not attend their scheduled shift.
Remove: Deletes the volunteer from the shift entirely without notifying them or leaving any record.
