Track volunteer requirements with checklist filters
Checklist filters help you quickly identify volunteers based on the status of their requirements.
Whether you're tracking background checks, waivers, training, certifications, or other onboarding requirements, filters make it easy to find volunteers who:
Have completed a checklist item
Have not completed a checklist item
Have an item that is expiring soon
Have an item that has already expired
Combined with Dashboard reminders, checklist filters help you stay on top of volunteer compliance and renewal requirements without manually reviewing each profile.
Filtering volunteers by checklist status
To filter volunteers by checklist status, go to the Directory, click the Filter icon, and select Checklist from the list of available filters.
Once added, choose the checklist item you want to track along with the status you'd like to filter by, then click Done to apply the filter.
The Directory will immediately display volunteers who match your selected criteria. You can combine checklist filters with other Directory filters, including tags, opportunities, and volunteer status, to create more targeted volunteer lists.
Common questions
Can checklist items prevent volunteers from signing up?
No. Checklist items are not connected to opportunity signup restrictions. If volunteers must meet specific requirements before participating, use Applications to collect and review that information before approval.
Is there a separate checklist for different volunteers?
No. Each organization has a single checklist configuration. You can choose which items are completed for each volunteer, and leave non-applicable items unchecked.
When do checklist reminders begin?
Reminders and expiration tracking only begin after a checklist item has been marked as completed. This allows you to track renewals without generating reminders for volunteers who have not yet completed a requirement.
How can I find volunteers with missing or expired requirements?
Use the Checklist filter in the Directory and select the checklist item and status you want to review. You can then message volunteers, apply tags, or take other bulk actions directly from the filtered results.
