Understanding the difference between groups and tags

How to use tags vs groups when organizing volunteers in Timecounts.

Updated this week

The Groups feature is available on the Pro Plan.

Here’s a breakdown of the differences between Groups and Tags in Timecounts:

Tags: Use Tags to quickly organize volunteers by specific attributes, making it easy to identify, filter, or message them. Tags are flexible and can highlight unique characteristics, like “superstar volunteers.”

Groups: Groups are tailored for scheduling or registration, especially useful for companies, friends, or families volunteering together. For example, if a company like Central Bank wants to bring a large group, you can reserve or assign a set number of spots for them at an event or shift without needing the names of each attendee.

This setup helps you tailor volunteer management to suit your needs, whether quick filtering with tags or organized scheduling with groups.
