Why delete an event?

Deleting an event is useful when it’s been canceled or is no longer happening. It helps keep your event list organized, prevents new signups, and ensures your volunteers are updated. It’s also a quick way to clean up if an event was created by mistake or doesn’t need to be kept.

How to delete or cancel an event.

If your event is no longer happening, there are two ways to delete it:

From the event list view, click the three-dot icon next to the event you want to delete and select Delete.

You can also open the event, click the Publish button at the top-right corner, and click the dropdown arrow to select Delete Event.

A confirmation popup will appear, informing you that this action cannot be undone and asking you to enter a number to confirm you wish to delete.

If the event is already published and volunteers are confirmed, you’ll also see a second popup asking if you want to send a cancellation email. If you prefer not to send one (or would like to send a separate message), uncheck the box. The event won’t be completely deleted until you click the final Delete button.

If you're deleting a repeating event, a different popup will ask you first to select which dates you’d like to delete.

You can also delete an individual event within a series by going to the event's Details page, clicking Modify Repeating Dates, and using the trash icon next to the date you want to delete.
