How required fields work
Required fields must be completed before a volunteer can submit a form.
When a field is marked as required, volunteers will not be able to complete the form until they provide a response.
Make a field required
To make a field required, open the field in the form builder and enable the Required checkbox at the bottom of the field settings.
Changes to the field are saved automatically. If your form has already been published, remember to clickPublish or Publish Changes in the top-right corner to make the updated version available to volunteers.
Best practices
We recommend only making fields required when the information is essential to your onboarding, application, event, or review process.
Requiring too many fields can increase form abandonment and make the signup process feel longer than necessary.
As a general rule, ask only for information you need in order to make a decision, communicate with volunteers, or ensure a safe and successful experience.
