Shift Blocks

Create shift templates to drag onto your schedule.

Updated over a week ago

What are Shift Blocks?

A Shift Block is a new feature we've introduced to make it even faster to build out schedules. It is essentially a shift template that includes a start/end time, number of spots, and waitlist preference. They can be used across multiple schedules and since they are not tied to a particular position, this makes them very flexible to use.

Create Shift Blocks

Open a Schedule and click on the Shift Blocks icon

This will open a card to the right in the schedule where you can add or manage your Shift Blocks.

Press 'Add Block' to create a new Shift Block, enter the details, and save.

Edit or Delete a Shift Block

To change or delete a shift block, simply hover over in the list view and it will reveal an edit pencil and trash icon.

Use Shift Blocks to Create Shifts

When you are ready to use your Shift Blocks, simply open the card and using the drag icon beside the Shift Block hold and drag onto the schedule. The card will close allowing you to move up and down across the schedule into the day you want. You'll see a dotted outline in the box where you can drop it in.

It may take a second to appear, but you'll see the shift look like this in the schedule once you have added the shift. You can continue to drag shift blocks onto the schedule to build out your week.

Beta: This feature is experimental and we will be improving it over time. Our goal is to make it as fast as possible for you to create and publish schedules. If you have suggestions for how to make this better - please let us know!
